Employees, jobseekers and private participants across Australia are now achieving nationally recognised qualifications, short courses and career progression in the health sector with the health training solutions initiative.

The following Frequently Asked Questions have been included to assist you with any queries you may have about the programs before you enrol.

Are these nationally recognised courses?
These courses are nationally recognised, meaning that they are recognised as accredited qualifications in any State and Territory in Australia.  

How do the courses run?
The courses are offered through a variety of flexible pathways, allowing you to complete your course on location at your workplace or at home. Optional workshops are also provided if you prefer to access these.  

How much time do the courses take?
Depending on the qualification you select, the courses are undertaken over 3 months – 2 years.  

How is the assessment conducted?
A range of practical tasks are completed as part of your daily work routine, or through projects. All tasks are based on the practical application of the course into the health sector, or if you are employed, into the organisation you are working in. There are no exams.  

Do I have to be employed in the health sector?
No you do not have to be an employee, or employed in the health sector. All programs are also available for jobseekers and for private participants. 

Can I get recognition for skills I already have?
All participants have the option of recognition of their existing skills through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process.  

What happens if I cancel my enrolment without completing the course?
If an enrolment is cancelled before completion, you will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment, outlining the units in the course that you successfully completed.  

How do I find out what support or funding is available to me?
Simply submit an expression of interest form and a consultant will be in contact with you to undertake an eligibility assessment of your background.
